Fluna Gun Black

Quick bluing for gun barrels

Your valuable gun is protected from corrosion by bluing. However, if the rather weak protective coating on the barrel is damaged during use due to abrasion or impact, rapid action is required. With Fluna Gun Black bluing agent, you can renew the important corrosion protection without much effort.

With Fluna Gun Black, you can renew damaged burnishing in just a few steps. Small metal parts such as screw heads can be blackened with the quick blackening and smaller surfaces get the desired coloration with Fluna Gun Black. The easy-to-use cold bluing prevents oxidation of unprotected areas on the barrel, your gun is ready for outdoor use again after a short time in any weather.

Apply Fluna Gun Black

Then apply Fluna Gun Black thinly with a fine brush or cotton swab and allow to dry. Repeat this process until the desired degree of blackening is achieved. Between the processes, neutralize the surfaces and dry them. Finally, treat the blackened area again with Fluna Gun Coating.

In order for the rapid blueing to take effect, the damaged area must first be carefully cleaned and degreased with Fluna Gun Degreaser or Fluna Isopropanol. Re-sanding with 1,000 grit sandpaper or an abrasive pad may be necessary. Use a strong adhesive tape for an exact demarcation of a damaged area.

Frequently asked questions about Fluna Gun Black

WHAT EXACTLY IS BLUING ?

Bluing is a chemical reaction on ferrous surfaces that creates a thin protective layer that protects against corrosion and produces the desired black color. Guns are exposed to wind and weather outdoors and benefit from a thoroughly performed burnishing process.

WHAT IS FAST OR COLD BLUING?

Rapid bluing, as you can do with Fluna Gun Black, is primarily for repairing barrels and gun parts. Abrasions and flaking of the original bluing expose the underlying material to corrosion. Therefore, a quick burnishing with a liquid agent is important and necessary.

WHAT DO I NEED TO CONSIDER BEFORE BLUING ?

Make sure that the area to be treated is completely clean and free of grease. It is best to use Fluna Tec cleaning products for preparation in order to achieve an optimal result.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT AFTER BLUING BEFORE THE GUN IS READY FOR USE?

After drying the successively applied layers of Fluna Gun Black and subsequent treatment with Fluna Gun Coating, please wait about two hours until the ceramic coating is fully cured and the repaired area is protected in the best possible way.
